Library to close March 19-31 due to coronavirus concerns

In response to the growing concern regarding the novel coronavirus COVID-19 and the recommendations of health and local government officials, the library will be closed to the public March 19-31 and has cancelled all programs, meeting room reservations and passport appointments now through April 30.

We will evaluate community health conditions every two weeks to determine when we should re-open, library Director Michelle Mears said.

While we are closed, we will offer our new curbside service for patrons to pick-up and return materials. To use the service, patrons should call the Belt Branch or the Savannah Branch to arrange a pick-up time for their reserved items. Items can be put on reserve through our website or by calling the library and speaking with a staff member. Library staff also can make recommendations for patrons looking for reading materials.

The Belt and Savannah branches will be open regular business hours Tuesday and Wednesday, March 17-18, and then close to the public. Bookmobile service also has been suspended from now until further notice.

Patrons should check out the variety of electronic resources we offer at, including e-books and e-magazines, audiobooks, music, movies and online classes that can be viewed and downloaded for free.
